Ginger Morgan is the Executive Director (Chief Puppy Up Officer) and President of the Board for 2 Million Dogs 2 Miles, Inc. Prior to joining the 2 Dogs 2000 Miles/2 Million Dogs team she was the Executive Director for the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County. In 2008, Morgan was recognized as one of “Fifty Woman Who Make a Difference” in Memphis, TN. Morgan’s background also includes experience in advertising, marketing, fundraising and event planning. She, along with Pete (her dog), started the Visiting Dog Therapy Program at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis. While at the Humane Society, Morgan trained juvenile prisoners at the Shelby County Correctional Center, who had been tried as adults, to train the dogs at the Humane Society to give them a better chance of getting adopted. She resides in Memphis with her dogs and cat.
Erich Trapp is the Secretary of 2 Million Dogs 2 Miles, Inc. Trapp is an English professor and writer, rhetorician and researcher, and edits several science fiction publications. Some of his past lives have included work as an actor and techie in the theatre, time as a radio personality, work as a copy writer, voice over artist, choral conductor, and musician, and he has served on several international special interest boards in New York and Texas. Originally from a small town in Western New York, he moved to Texas in 1979 and became a Naturalized Texan. In 2000, he and his wife moved to Middle Tennessee, where they live with their 4 dogs and cat. Having personally lost two dogs to cancer, Trapp immediately became interested in Robinson’s work and his steadfast commitment to educating the public about the epidemic of canine cancer. Trapp has been working with 2 Dogs 2000 Miles since April of 2008, and is pleased to now be working with 2 Million Dogs as well. He remains committed to the goals of spreading awareness about canine cancer to a growing international audience, and supporting the expanding efforts of 2 Million Dogs as they positively impact lives around the world.
Luke Robinson, a former business consultant and owner of a practice for biotech companies in San Antonio and Boston, is the founder of 2 Dogs 2,000 Miles and 2 Million Dogs 2 Miles, Inc. With a B.B.A. in finance and accounting, he was recognized in 2002 as one of the “40 Under 40” rising stars in his field by the San Antonio Business Journal. The subject of hundreds of published and broadcast interviews the past two years, he’s a passionate advocate for raising awareness and finding an end to canine cancer, and for furthering comparative oncology to the benefit of pets and people. In the fall of 2010, he will appear with his own 2 Great Pyrenees on the Animal Planet Channel show Dogs 101, the episode on Great Pyrenees (filmed in March 2010 and to loop on air repeatedly through 2010 and 2011). He was named one of the Top Ten Not So Ordinary Pet People of the Year in 2009 for his extraordinary mission [http://www.zootoo.com/petnew]. In June, he was awarded the 2010 Humanitarian Awareness Award from Fetch a Cure, which works for prevention, awareness, and a cure of cancer in pets. On October 20, 2010, he is to receive the 2010 Caninatarian Award from the Association of Pet Dog Trainers in Atlanta, along with best-selling author and Dr. Temple Grandin. His cross-country companions in adventure are his Great Pyrenees dogs Hudson (age 4) and Murphy (age 9).
Signe Anderson Strawser joined the board of 2 Million Dogs 2 Miles, Inc. in 2008. She has been the president of Anderson Insurance Agency, Inc. in Columbus, Ohio since 1975. She has two Bernese Mountain Dogs, Benson and Maddie, and is president of the Buckeye Bernese Mountain Dog Club. She is a board member of Columbus All Breed Training Club, and also organizes Camp Pawsitive Adventure in Ashley, Ohio. She lives in Circleville, Ohio, with her husband, Gregg.
Joanne Silverman is a native of Richmond, Virginia, businesswoman, but most importantly a devoted parent & passionate animal lover. Silverman became Executive Director of FETCH a Cure in 2008. A non – profit organization whose mission is dedicated to pet cancer awareness and senior aging issues in dogs and cats. FETCH also provides funding for families in need of treatment for their pets. A life-long animal activist and volunteer, the opportunity with FETCH was a fulfillment of a constant dedication to animals, their health and well- being. She is inspired daily by her daughter Emma, her dogs Asia and Buddy, her cat Ernie, and a very fast turtle named Guppy.
Lydia Best is the owner of Everything and The Dog, a pet sitting and dog walking service that employs over 100 dog walkers throughout Northern VA. Best became involved with 2 Dogs 2000 Miles (now 2 Million Dogs) after her own dog, Princess Daisy, was diagnosed with a heart-based tumor in 2008. Daisy went on to be the first “Cancer Can't Keep a Good Dog Down” Calendar cover dog in 2009 after she lost her battle to cancer. Best and her husband Pat have hosted Robinson, Hudson and Murphy several times in their home and if asked, her current English Bulldog, Lily, will tell you she is Hudson's girlfriend. Besides being on the 2 Million Dogs 2 Miles, Inc. board, Best is also involved with several other non-profits including the Northern VA Professional Petsitters Network, Fur Baby Food Bank, Scooby North America, and Leesburg Dogs.
